Risk Advisory / Our method
One number. A clear reason behind it.
The RMOS Risk Index™ turns a pile of risk information into a score you can understand, compare and improve.
The idea
Most risk reviews end with a long list. A list does not tell you what to fix first. The RMOS™ (Risk Management Operating System) rates each area of exposure, gives it a weight that fits your situation, and combines everything into one number from 0 to 1000.
How the score is built
- Collect. You complete a guided intake for your client type: family, business, community association or commercial real estate portfolio.
- Rate 14 categories. Each category of exposure is rated on the information you provide and the documents we review.
- Weight for you. The same exposure matters differently to different clients. A key-person risk may weigh more for a family office than for a condo board, so weights are set by client type.
- Combine. The weighted ratings roll up into the RMOS Risk Index™, from 0 to 1000.
- Act. The report ranks the findings so the biggest drivers of your score come first.
What the score is, and is not
- It is a decision-support tool that makes risks comparable and trackable over time.
- It is not an insurance quote, a credit score or a guarantee of any outcome.
- It is only as good as the information provided, so we document our sources and assumptions.
Common questions
Who created the RMOS?
It is IAG’s own methodology, documented in a written methodology paper.
Can I see how the score was calculated?
Yes. Your report shows how each category contributed to your total.
Can I track my score over time?
Yes. A repeat review lets you see what changed after you acted on the findings.
